The LCAS fully certified (Supplemental Type Certificate) roller door system is designed provide a means of opening and closing of instrument openings installed in the lower fuselage.

This modification involves the installation of two independently operated roller doors on the belly of Basler BT-67. The approval is to replace existing non-structural cover panels installed by Basler Aircraft with installation of aluminum roller doors to facilitate opening and closing in flight as required. The door system can either be operated locally at the main control panel or from an operator seat via a tethered remote box.

The two roller doors are designed to open or close off the downward facing instrument ports in the lower fuselage.  Each door has 4 positions that are indicated with lights on both the main control panel and optional remote box.

The openings in the fuselage were designed and installed by Basler Turbo Conversions as stand-alone permanent holes requiring no further reinforcing and are positioned so they can be protected from the elements when not in use.
